Parkes is the home of the famous “Dish”. The CSIRO Parkes Radio Telescope is one of Australia’s most prominent landmarks, and is a must see attraction on every driving holiday through NSW. The Visitor Discovery Centre has many displays, hands on exhibits and a 3D theatre.

The Dish Cafe is famous for its beef and red wine pies.

The Henry Parkes Centre is a major cultural tourism precinct incorporating the Parkes Visitor Centre and four unique collections including The King’s Castle Elvis Exhibit, Parkes Motor Museum, Henry Parkes Museum and the Antique Machinery Collection.

Memorial Hill provides the best vantage point for the magnificent views over Parkes and surrounding farmland. It is the most visible landmark in town, with its 33 metre high Shrine of Remembrance.
